Chris Van Dusen is a marketing expert with 10+ years of experience - launching a marketing agency, is a partner in an Orange County liquor distillery andis currently the CMO of Balanced Health Botanicals (BHB) in Denver, CO.

An expert at navigating the challenges of an industry with many roadblocks, he allocated a budget of $20 million to leada diverse team of marketers focused on democratizing CBD and making BHB the largest supplier of hemp-derived CBD in the world. The marketing department has grown from 3 to 15with 9more positions to fill in 2019. Chris’ implemented strategy has supported company growth, which reflects $20 million in e-commerce sales, $40mm overall in 2018 and is up 130% YoY so far in 2019.

Chris led his team to focus on marketing initiatives that were unconventional, yet effective, setting BHB apart in an industry with over 3,000 companies occupying the space. In July 2019, Chris spearheaded a massive Gimmick-Free CBDcampaign calling attention to the need for consumer education and brand transparency. The campaign lives under the CBDistillery brand and highlightsthe misuse of CBD throughout the industry. The campaign launched with 7-billboard displays in Times Square featuring gimmicky CBD products - from toilet paper to condoms – compared to their own gimmick-free products. To amplify the campaign, the launch was followed by an omnichannel marketing approach across social media, in-studio interviews, radio, email campaigns, direct mail, and strategically placed advertisements.

Chris and team created the #CBDMOVEMENT™, a strategic initiative that provides consumers with access to hemp-derived CBD products, widespread educational resources, the latest industry research, and unfiltered consumer testimonials. The #CBDMOVEMENT™ is steamrolling change across the nation, inspiring consumers to think about alternative methods of healing and to change the mindset of the stigmatized cannabis industry.

Chris strategically uses budget across trade show attendance, educational campaigns, resources for consumers, innovative techniques for brand transparency and partnerships for digital, paid, and earned media. With each tactic, Chris has the same end goal – to empower consumers with the knowledge they need to fully trust his brand and products on the market.
